Asus has pretty nice sound cards for a fairly reasonable price. I have one of these right now (got it when my xfi died horribly), and it's been pretty great so far.

Yeah Creative suck as a sound card company.
I had an Audigy 2, which isn't THAT old, that I had to ditch because they were too pussy to write decent code for Vista for it. The volume output was almost non-existent. I switched to my onboard card and now I can rock the house with my headphones plugged in. The only downside is that my onboard doesn't have 5.1 support :(
I was looking at buying another sound card too and the only decent ones are either built by Creative or are built using their technology. I'll eventually upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out in a few years, and I don't want to have to buy ANOTHER card just because they're too scared to support older cards. I think I'll just stick to onboard, they seem solid enough.

For PMPs though it's either a Creative ZEN player or a Cowon A3 which is HUGE, but feature-filled and twice the price. I had really hoped that by now PMPs would be everywhere and have features coming out their wazoos. But for a power-user there's like, three options.
Has Apple really scared away the opposition? They did a number on iRiver that's for sure, they aren't even touching apples market these days, and they've discontinued all their products that used to.

I would take you up on your offer but I've already ordered one, thanks anyway :D

Why would you ever buy a creative product nowadays? They're horrible, they break, and when they break Creative says things like, "IT'S A PROBLEM WITH YOUR VIDEO CARD, GO TALK TO ATI" even though you have an nVidia card.

Oh wait, we're talking about a mp3 player...?

Also, I constantly feel sorry for people living in Australia who are interested in electronics or games. You guys are always somewhere to a month to several years behind. If you like, you can send me $300 in Australian Fun-Bucksâ„¢ and I'll buy it for ya. :P
